Microsoft Award Quotes
Zones has won three awards from the Microsoft Supplier Program in recent years, earning your Diversity Excellence Award twice and your Technology Excellence Award. The citations for these awards described in detail why we were selected:
2015 Diversity Award
“Zones manages hosted product catalogs in 32 company codes across Canada, Europe and India. Zones also manages strategic partners in the Latin America and Asia-Pacific regions in support of its global enterprise client base.
“Zones was integral to the launch of Microsoft Surface Pro 3 products for Microsoft’s internal Cost per Head hardware procurement. On May 20, 2014, Microsoft announced the launch of the newest member of the Surface family of products, “the Surface Pro 3”.
“Zones has been providing significant savings to Microsoft over the past five-plus years, supplying Third Party Peripherals, Consumer IT Hardware standards, and nonstandard hardware to Microsoft.
“Zones captured cost savings of 25 percent of applicable spend in the U.S. for Microsoft’s 2014 fiscal year. Over the first half of FY15, U.S. savings are tracking at 53 percent.”
2011 Technology and Diversity Awards
“(Zones) supports Microsoft across many procurement categories and global locations spanning more than 30 countries. Since being awarded the U.S. hardware peripheral business in 2009, Zones has expanded its business model to provide world-class acquisition, logistics and fulfillment support for several Microsoft’s business-critical projects. Zones has demonstrated an ability to work closely with Microsoft, building customized fulfillment solutions that are supported by a dedicated team of account and technical professionals. Its commitment to offering exceptional customer service scales all organizational levels, and its partnership helps Microsoft execute many strategic initiatives.”
Zones Powers Our Clients to Awards
Zones has also helped several major clients and end-user teams win technology awards for their own organizations.
Panera
Zones has worked on the Panera 2.0 project, a 36-month overhaul of the bakery cafe’s restaurant pager system which notifies customers when their food is ready. The new mobile kiosk is much more than a payment system or digital ordering process. The fast-lane kiosk is an integrated, comprehensive, end-to-end solution which reduces wait times, improves order accuracy, and minimizes or eliminates crowding. And it does it all while delivering more personalized customer experiences.
Zones provides the technology behind the fast-lane kiosks, including the tablet devices that enable customers to place dine-in and to-go orders. The mobile kiosks are available in addition to cashier stations, so that wait time is reduced for all customers.
Panera has received numerous industry awards for this innovative solution including:
- Award of Excellence from Fast Casual
- Most Innovative Company in Food from Fast Company
- Tech Accelerator of the Year from Restaurant Business Magazine
Salesforce.com
Recently, the Salesforce.com IT team that Zones works with was honored with the Apollo award, an internal honor for a project where Zones provided support. Zones partnered with the internal Salesforce.com IT team on a project to put their software licenses in order and develop an internal software asset management database. Salesforce.com needed an internal structure to manage all software licenses that they purchased, and understand which licenses are valid, which are expired and which are coming up for renewal. After a period of time where the licenses were not tracked well or organized efficiently, the Zones team jumped in and helped provide order amid chaos.
The Zones Team provided the highest levels of support, powering the internal Salesforce team to develop effective business processes, streamline procurement and ensure quick allocation of software licenses to the IT team’s internal customers.
A senior manager at Salesforce.com credit the Zones team as “the reason that the SAM team was recognized for their outstanding work on this project.”
